The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee promotes the goals of diversity, equity, and inclusion among students, postdocs, staff, and faculty in the Department of Psychology at Rutgers University - Newark. We believe that diversity is our strength. We aspire to build a community where all members feel safe and welcome, their unique backgrounds and contributions respected, and they have acccess to resources they need to succeed.

Projects

Every year, the Committee develops different projects aligned with the DEIC vision. The projects are broadly organised into two areas of focus - creating awareness about important issues related to minorities, and taking action to address inequalities and racism.

Get Involved

If you are a student, postdoc, staff, or faculty from the Department of Psychology, and are interested in making a difference with the DEIC, our open meetings are the best place to meet other members and discuss ideas. You can also volunteer to be a part of DEIC project  teams.

Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood. Now is the time to understand more, so that we may fear less.
